August 2018 Cream Teas and Cardamom – Friends Afternoon

Lovely afternoon and company – from Amberley, Rodborough, Nailsworth, Stroud and Bristol.  Many interested visitors came to Hill House for the first time.  cream tea 4Ginger scones, cardamom cake, strawberries and cream and the highly acclaimed pancakes cooked on the spot by JP.  cream tea 2Gleams of sunshine, and many offers of help for the hill house project, and ideas for support for sanctuary seeking people in Gloucester and Bristol.  Good will towards refugees is active and strong in this area – so good to see.  Tables, tea urn, chairs – loaned for the occasion from the local community.  Thank you to everyone for your cooking, your help, your company and your donations!

July 2018      Celebrate in solidarity!

Had a fabulous evening at the Amberley Parish Rooms  19th July : Celebrate! World Music and Food    Many thanks to Amberley Peace and Justice Group for hosting this event, to Lorraine Ayensu Refugee Arts for booking the musicians, and Moveable Feast for the meal.

Over 100 people came to share a wonderful Kurdish meal and listen to songs and music on Oud and Saz played and sung by Ali from Sudan, Knud from Germany, Dijwar and Jane from Kurdish Syria.  The event raised more than £1000.  All profits are going to Bristol Hospitality Network
